Home learning tasks for Monday.

Spellings: Use the powerpoint below with the children to explore the rules for adding suffixes to root words. (Spelling Tracker_Rule15/less, ment, ful, ness suffixes). Then ask children to correctly spell some words containing those suffixes (see slide 6 for examples). Don't do them all at once.. no more than 10 a day.

English Reading: Use the powerpoint Y5 Therapy R2f below, to explore with the children how they can work out the meaning of new language.
Guidance: work through the powerpoint with the children. They can record responses to the questions in their exercise books as they go. Don't panic: key terms (e.g synonyms and antonyms) are explained in the powerpoint.
