Welcome to Tuesday's learning tasks....
Spellings: Rule 38 ‘cial’ suffix
Use this link: https://spellingframe.co.uk/
Remember, you will need to complete the spelling test on Friday, so it is a good idea to practice writing some of these words each day too.
English:
This week our English and topic are linked around the text Paddington bear. You will be writing your own Paddington adventure story later in the week.
SPAG: Relative clauses
Click on the link below to access the BBC Bitesize page on relative clauses. Watch the videos, read the text and complete the quiz.

Hint: you will be expected to use some relative clauses in your Paddington adventure story later this week.
Reading: A Bear called Paddington
Either listen to, or read for yourself, the third and fourth chapters of ‘A Bear called Paddington.
Chapter 3- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elto5u5H_kI
Chapter 4- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46YFinIT98o
Or enjoy reading it yourself! It is a free download on Kindle. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bear-Called-Paddington-Book-ebook/dp/B006UN3FTY
Today, you are going to focus on the plot of one of the chapters (you can choose which one). Using a story mountain, can you summarise the key events in the opening, build up, dilemma, resolution and ending of that chapter. Remember, you are only making notes so you shouldn’t be writing in sentences. Summarising means you are writing as little as possible! You can use the story mountain below, or draw your own. Looking at how the plot is mapped out in the structure will help you write your own chapter later on this week.
Maths:
Daily 10
Pupils have also been using daily 10 in class to improve this recall of multiplication and division facts. They all know how this works. Click on the link below to access the website.

Having listened to your feedback from last week, some of you preferred the white rose maths, and some preferred the NCETM videos. So, I am going to offer a choice. You can either do the white rose or the NCETM videos. There is no right or wrong option, it is what best suits you. Either lesson will benefit your child.
