Welcome to Thursday...another week is nearly completed!
Spellings: rule 41: able/ible suffixes
Use this link: https://spellingframe.co.uk/
Remember, you will be tested on these spellings on Friday, so it is a good idea to practice writing them daily too.
English/Topic: African Animals
Your task this week is to research an African animal and create an information book about that animal aimed at 7-8 year old children. You can choose which animal your book is based around, but it must be a land animal that is found in Africa.
Thursday: Research and make 2 pages of your information book
Your information book will need to include: (I recommend a page for each)
I would recommend you break this down to research and make one page at a time (1 or 2 a day), so by the end of the week you will have enough pages to make your book.
Each page will need to have:
How to produce your final book is up to you. You may choose to do all the artwork yourself, or find images from the internet and stick them onto your book. You may wish to complete your whole book electronically and produce an ‘ebook.’
Maths:
Daily 10
Pupils have also been using daily 10 in class to improve this recall of multiplication and division facts. They all know how this works. Click on the link below to access the website.

Having listened to your feedback, some of you preferred the white rose maths, and some preferred the NCETM videos. So, I am going to offer a choice. You can either do the white rose or the NCETM videos. There is no right or wrong option, it is what best suits you. Either lesson will benefit your child.

White Rose
Year 5 Maths Summer term week 11 (W/C 5th July) Lesson 4: Translation
https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-5/
Guidance: watch the video tutorial, then complete the worksheet. If you can't (or don't want to) print the worksheet, write your answers in your exercise book. Make sure you number your questions to make it easy for your parents to check your answers.
Translation sounds more complicated than it actually is...basically moving a shape. The shape doesn't change in size, but you will need to make sure your draw your translations accurately. Hint: plot the vertices for each shape carefully.
This week, the worksheets will not feature on the white rose site, but will appear at the bottom of this webpage.
Year 6 Maths Summer term week 11 (W/C 6th July) Lesson 4: Angles in regular polygons
https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-6/
Guidance: watch the video tutorial, then complete the worksheet. If you can't (or don't want to) print the worksheet, write your answers in your exercise book. Make sure you number your questions to make it easy for your parents to check your answers!
Don't forget...a regular shape has equal sides and equal angles!
This week, the worksheets will not feature on the white rose site, but will appear at the bottom of this webpage.
