About Us

We are a small village school with just under 100 pupils currently on roll across 4 classes with the majority of of our children coming from Narborough and the surrounding villages (Pentney, West Bilney, Beachamwell and Barton Bendish). However, we do have pupils on roll from outside of our catchment area.

Our experienced and dedicated staff provide a safe and happy learning environment, which gives each child the opportunity to achieve and develop according to their own skills. laying the foundations for lifelong learning. 

Being a Church of England Academy our Christian ethos and vision are integral to our school and we strive to ensure all pupils and adults flourish and shine during their time with us, hence our vision of:

'Let your light shine' (Matthew 5:16)

We aim to become a community which nurtures individuals to develop a sense of belonging, purpose and self-belief in order for all to flourish and shine.

Our values of respect, responsibility, kindness, courage, hope and forgiveness are clearly illustrated in the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). This powerful message provides a basis to enable our children to flourish and shine as unique individuals.

At Narborough we pride ourselves on having an engaging curriculum. We have a strong ‘tradition’ of music and sport here. We draw upon the expertise and interests of staff to actively develop skills for the future. We provide opportunities for children to attend sporting festivals as well as developing key skills such as teamwork and healthy competition.

Being part of The Nar Valley Federation of Church Schools offers our children the opportunity to mix in educational and social settings with children from neighbouring villages, something we believe is essential for small schools particularly as your child nears secondary school age.  It gives our teachers and teaching assistants the opportunity to frequently share good practise and curriculum ideas and also allows the schools leaders to pool resources to enable all the schools offer the best education possible for our children.

Involving parents and carers in all aspects of school life is something we firmly believe in. We set high expectations for ourselves and our pupils and invite parents to be part of the journey; supporting and encouraging all children to 'Let their light shine'.

We provide increasing opportunities for parents to take an active role in school life including briefing sessions, parent drop ins and learning cafes which enable you to see what and how your child is learning. We welcome your help and support in school, either in classrooms, at events or by joining our excellent Friends’ Association in organising a wide range of enjoyable fundraising events.
